Configuring an Explorer Content Index job

An Explorer Content Index job is created from the Explorer Content Index template that is provided with Meridian Explorer. This type of job defines the options for publishing repository content text to a full-text search catalog.

IFilters are used to index the content of documents. Only those file types for which IFilters are installed on the Publisher computer should be indexed.

To configure an Explorer Content Index job:

In BlueCielo Application Manager, expand the name of the publishing job in the configuration tree that you want to configure.

Select the Configuration branch in the configuration tree. The job's configuration pages appear in the right pane.

Click options or type values using the descriptions in the following table.

Repository	Select the repository that contains the content that you want to index.
Time out	Select the number of minutes for the Publisher to wait for content data to be generated by an IFilter before processing the next document.
Ignore Extensions	Type the file extensions that you want Publisher to ignore when extracting content text. To see the IFilters that are installed on the local computer and to automatically generate the excluded file extensions list: Click IFilters. The IFilter Components dialog box appears, listing the Windows registered file extensions and the corresponding installed IFilter, if any. File extensions for which no IFilter is currently installed are shown in red text. Click Close. The file extensions for which no IFilter is currently installed are set in the text box. Note The existing file extensions list is overwritten, but you can add other file extensions to the list.
